Overall, 2023 didn’t pan out as well as some previous years for Marino Communications. Thanks to some returning clients and some additional time ponder the direction of the company, 2024 is poised to be an important year for the brand.
Revenue was down a little from previous years due to Marino Communications’ MotoAmerica clients competing at fewer rounds in 2023. The two-races-per-weekend for five rounds format for both the Stock 1000 and Twins Cup classes meant fewer press releases, but it was a great year of writing for Travis Wyman Racing BMW, Rodio Racing – Powered by Robem Engineering Aprilia and Piaggio Group Americas. Team owner and pro racer Wyman finished third in the Stock 1000 points standings – and a mere 4 points behind the runner-up – and Rodio-Robem’s riders, Gus Rodio and Rocco Landers, ended up second and third, respectively, in the battle for the Twins Cup title.
The company’s principal, Michael Marino, also had two articles published on RevZilla’s Common Tread in 2023. The first was about his favorite roadside oddities that he’s come across in his more than 170,000 miles of motorcycle riding and touring. The second was an interview with MotoAmerica Chief Medical Officer Dr. Carl Price about staying hydrated while riding.
The Cuyahoga Moto online publication project had to be put on hold for the last four months of 2023 due to a lack of time to commit to it. Now that Michael has caught up on projects in other parts of his life, he’ll be able to spend more time writing for it and – just as importantly – promoting it.
For 2024, Marino Communications will be working with Rodio-Robem and Piaggio Group Americas for the five MotoAmerica Twins Cup rounds. The company also welcomes OrangeCat Racing to the Marino Communications family of clients. Michael’s long-time – and first-ever – client, Travis Wyman, has joined OrangeCat for the 2024 MotoAmerica Stock 1000 season, and we’re looking forward to continuing to work with Travis as well as the team’s other rider, Kaleb De Keyrel.
For Cuyahoga Moto, the plan is to have a booth at this year’s Fuel Cleveland and perhaps additional local events. On the editorial calendar are a few stories about the history of northeast Ohio’s motorcycle-oriented businesses, ride ideas for within northeast Ohio and a little beyond it and some editorials about the northeast Ohio motorcycle scene.
There’s a new service line that’s in development, but more on that later in 2024.
