About Michael Marino
After getting his start in motojournalism in 2016 with iHeart Media’s 2 Wheel Power Hour, Michael spent two years on the show on a part-time basis. Though his primary responsibilities were managing the show’s social media presence and reporting on motorcycle road racing, Michael also reported on motorcycle road riding and touring.
In 2018, Michael began a two-and-a-half-year stint as an associate editor at the American Motorcyclist Association. He gained experience covering most forms of motorcycle competition and also was responsible for press release writing, social media management and some podcast recording. Michael also penned articles for the AMA’s magazine and website about on-road and off-road recreational motorcycle riding and profiles of AMA members.
Michael made the transition to freelance work in 2020, and has continued working with motor sports teams and athletes — primarily in the MotoAmerica series. He’s also authored several articles for RevZilla’s Common Tread and the western New York publication Motoclectic and launched the regional motorcycle news website NEO Moto News in August 2022.
Michael’s academic background was focused in the social sciences. He has a bachelor’s degree in political science and master’s degrees in urban planning and history. Michael has several academic awards to his name and hopes to take up adjunct teaching at one or more of Cleveland’s collages or universities in the near future.
