COLUMBUS, Ohio – Central Ohio motorcycle road racer Gavin Anthony is ready to put on a great performance in front of friends, family and sponsors at the MotoAmerica Championship of Pittsburgh, Aug. 24-26.
The event is the closest of the nine rounds on the 2018 MotoAmerica Junior Cup schedule to the Hillard, Ohio, rider’s home region. The up-and-coming rider is hoping his experience racing on the Wampum, Pa., facility’s undulating and fast, 2.78-mile, 19-turn road course will give him the edge he needs to capture his first professional motorcycle road racing victory.

Anthony is in his second year of competing as a professional racer. The Attack Performance / Herrin Compound Yamaha rider has four podium finishes to his credit and is hoping to use his experience at his home track to take his first professional racing victory this weekend. Anthony is currently in sixth place in the MotoAmerica Junior Cup standings.
“It has been an up-and-down season, but I am keeping my head high heading into my home race,” Anthony said. “I have lots of friends and family coming to the track from Columbus for this event, and Pittsburgh International Race Complex is one of my favorite tracks. I have a ridden a lot of laps there and am hoping my experience and the upgrades we are receiving this weekend on our Yamaha YZF-R3 will help me score my first professional racing win this weekend.”

Anthony extends a special thanks to his hometown sponsors who have supported him this season, including 614 Paintworx, 28 Motorsports, Chris Wallace, Rippin PC and Ryan Kerr Racing.
The MotoAmerica Junior Cup is scheduled to race Saturday and Sunday at 1 p.m. EDT / 10 a.m. PDT. The races are to be streamed live on MotoAmerica’s YouTube channel.
